Fight for the «Road of Life»: ISIS tries to cut off «Tigers'» supply route on their way to Raqqa (VIDEO, PHOTO)
Syrian army repelled another ISIS terrorists’ assault on the so called Road of Life Salamiyah — Itriya which is basic supply route of the city of Aleppo and army unit advancing to Raqqa.
Jihadists launched the assault early in the morning focusing on several SAA and «Hezbollah» strongholds in Wadi Auzayb region. Some fierce fighting started there and lasted until 8 am. The strategic road was closed.
After long and exhausting combat governmental forces have repelled the assault attempt and made terrorists to retreat. Soon after that the road was reopened for civil vehicles.
Several SAA servicemen are reported to be killed in combats. Terrorists have also suffered losses and retreated.
Lybian «Hezbollah» fighters published photos made on Salamiya — Itriya highway proving that the road is open.
ISIS* commanders try to use such raids to slow down Syrian Army in advancing in the East Aleppo province and prevent governmetal forces from reinforcing.
It’s obvious that the militants have no more manpower to launch massive offensive in that region like back in 2015 and 2016 when Khanasser — Itriya — Salamiyah supply route had been repeatedly cut off by terrorists.
